As the lead architect on the exciting new project for North Staffs Mind, we are thrilled to announce the approved plans for the demolition of their existing office block on Marsh Street, Hanley, and the construction of a modern, purpose-built headquarters. This new facility is designed to serve as a state-of-the-art space that fosters both mental and physical well-being, with features that provide comfort, security, and accessibility for all who visit.
The vision for this project is centered around creating an environment that supports North Staffs Mind’s essential work in the local community, offering services to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. The new building will include a café, conference rooms, consultation spaces, offices, and dedicated training areas—all thoughtfully designed with the needs of both staff and visitors in mind. The goal is to create a welcoming and safe environment where people can seek help, collaborate, and learn in a space that feels both calming and empowering.
One of the key aspects of the design is a focus on safety and accessibility, ensuring that the facility meets the diverse needs of individuals in a secure, inclusive setting. Additionally, the plans include extensive landscaping and improved parking, which will ensure that the building is easily accessible and integrated with its surroundings. These changes will help create a peaceful and inviting atmosphere that encourages engagement and promotes well-being for all who use the space.
North Staffs Mind has been an invaluable resource in Stoke-on-Trent since 1976, providing essential services to those in need. This new facility will enable the charity to expand its services, including counseling, supported housing, and workplace well-being programs, all of which play a vital role in improving mental health within the community.
The design process has been a true collaboration with North Staffs Mind’s team to ensure the building meets their evolving needs while being fully aligned with their mission. We’re excited to see this project come to life, and we look forward to the positive impact it will have on the local community. The new headquarters will be a space where individuals can seek support, find peace, and feel empowered to improve their mental health.
