Bespoke New Build Home in Barlaston, Staffordshire.

Project Overview

Ellis Hillman Architects secured planning permission for a bespoke new build 5-bedroom family home in Barlaston, designed over 2.5 storeys. The project is currently under construction and aims to create a home that merges timeless traditional design elements with modern and functional living spaces. This balance ensures the new dwelling fits seamlessly into the surrounding residential area while offering an updated, comfortable living experience.

The architectural approach for this bespoke home focuses on the careful integration of traditional detailing alongside contemporary features. This design philosophy ensures the dwelling enhances the existing neighborhood while providing an exceptional living environment for the residents. The use of classic materials, such as brickwork and slate roofing, grounds the house in the traditional character of the area, while large, energy-efficient windows and modern touches bring a sense of innovation and style to the space.

Inside, the house offers five spacious bedrooms, each complete with its own en-suite bathroom, ensuring privacy and comfort for all family members. The heart of the home is the expansive open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area. This generous space is designed to accommodate family gatherings, entertaining guests, and daily living, with large sliding doors that connect the indoor and outdoor areas. The ground floor also includes an integrated double garage, providing ample room for vehicles, storage, and further functionality.

Surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens, the home enjoys a peaceful setting, contributing to a relaxing atmosphere. The dwelling incorporates sustainable energy solutions, including Solar PV panels that generate power for the property and an air-source heat pump for efficient heating. These renewable energy technologies reduce the home’s carbon footprint while maintaining high comfort levels for the family.

This bespoke new build carefully balances modern living needs with traditional design, creating a home that respects its environment while offering exceptional functionality and sustainability.
