Project Overview

Ellis Hillman Architects are pleased to have worked closely with JBMI on the design of a new industrial and trade unit development, located within their expanding facility. The project, which has received planning approval, will provide six versatile industrial units designed to meet the operational needs of JBMI while also offering flexible spaces for external businesses. These units will range in size, with the largest at 12,000 sq. ft and the smaller units at 2,570 sq. ft, providing a variety of options for different types of tenants. The development is set on a 0.81-hectare site and will also feature 37 parking spaces, including accessible spaces and bike storage, ensuring the site is both functional and accessible.

Throughout the design process, our team focused on creating a facility that is not only efficient but also complements the surrounding industrial context. The design incorporates sustainable principles with careful consideration given to the site’s layout, massing, and scale. The units will be finished with high-quality cladding materials, including olive green panels for the larger unit, and grey cladding for the smaller units, ensuring that the new buildings will integrate seamlessly with the existing structures on-site. Our goal was to design a modern and adaptable space that enhances JBMI’s operations while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic that aligns with the area’s established architectural language.

We have thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with JBMI on this project and are excited to see the development take shape. With planning approval in place, we look forward to the next phase of the project and are confident that the completed units will not only support JBMI’s growth but also provide valuable commercial space for other businesses.
